The Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in 2020 awarded Associate Professor Takeshi Shimmura of GIR the Young Scientist Award.

Associate Professor Shinmura reported this news to University of Agriculture and Technology President Chiba on Monday, June 1st. President Chiba gave a congratulatory speech by saying, “I wish you could further excite the University with your advanced research like this”

Comment from associate Professor Shinmura: I am honored to receive the Young Scientist Award from the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. The research on voice communication in animals, which has won the award, is the result of the support and blessings I have received from many collaborators and students, and I would like to express my deep gratitude to them. I would like to continue to appreciate people and animals, and fully engage in research that achieves “conversation with animals” through agriculture/engineering cooperation while confronting science with sincerity.
