Takahiro Ichikawa, Associate Professor of GIR, won “The JLCS Young Researcher’s Award” and “The JLCS Best Paper Award – Category C” from Japanese Liquid Crystal Society (JLCS) on September 5, 2019.

Awarded Theme: Study on the establishment of molecular design method of bicontinuous cubic liquid crystal and its functionalization.
Dr. Ichikawa is promoting the research of bicontinuous cubic liquid crystal, which is very rare among liquid crystal, and leading in the world in establishing the molecular design method of bicontinuous cubic liquid crystal. The award was given to Dr. Ichikawa for his contribution in the field of liquid crystal and for further development of design method of cubic crystal.
