【LIFE SCIENCE】 Kuroda Team
As seen in the recent novel coronavirus epidemic, the ability to rapidly develop vaccines and antivirals is a critical public health issue in a globalized and highly mobile society. In this research unit, biotechnology, bioinformatics, virology, and recombinant genetic engineering is used to develop a technology platform for the rapid development of vaccines and antivirals. In the platform, the physical, biological, and immunological properties of recombinant proteins will be analyzed, and the data and samples will be stored and shared within the research unit. Furthermore, the research objective is to establish basic technologies (vaccine seed molecules, DNA aptamers and compounds for antiviral drugs) to prepare for future viral epidemics.
