Deepening of control science for dynamic interfacial dynamics and their process and material applications

Overview
In this research, we attempt to further deepen the fundamentals of the control science of dynamic interfacial mechanics by fluid mechanics, chemical thermodynamics, and material mechanics, and to develop application technologies for processes and materials that take advantage of the characteristics of each type of mechanics. Specifically, we will elucidate the physical mechanisms and control molecular orientation of representative elements (elongation, collision, and deposition) of complex fluids from jet behavior to post-impact and deepen our understanding of the control theory of dynamic interfacial dynamics in supersonic microjets that use impact forces as fluid driving forces. At the same time, we will deepen our understanding of the effects of chemical reactions and chemical thermodynamics, such as viscosity change, interfacial tension change, and phase separation, on the control of dynamic interfacial dynamics through chemical reactions. In addition, we will investigate the control theory of dynamic interfacial mechanics in the change of material properties due to photopolymerization. Process applications include enhanced oil recovery, CO2 geological storage, and 4D printing (loft robotics), while material applications focus on hydrogel materials with excellent biocompatibility through photopolymerization.
