Title | "Enhancing society’s resilience to heat in response to climate change"
Simon will discuss the ways that extreme heat effects society, with a focus on human health and labour. He will explore the extent to which recent climate change has already effected society owing to rising temperatures, and he will also discuss the risks of future climate change. Simon will also discuss some of the strategies for adapting cities and workplaces to rising global average temperatures, alongside examples of how researchers are working with decision-makers to enhance resilience to more frequent and extreme heatwaves with climate change. The talk will draw on several studies from Simon’s research, from local to global-scales. |
