Title | "Metasurfaces with extreme light manipulation capabilities for optical sensing"
For many applications such as remote sensing and free-space communications, the use of silicon-based nanostructures is highly desired, as this device format could leverage the mass production capability of semiconductor fabrication foundries. At the University of Southampton, my team has explored several methods in this research direction, mainly by exploring the extreme light manipulation capabilities of metasurfaces. In this seminar, I will discuss the use of metasurfaces for light manipulations such as focusing, steering and mode conversion. I will also present a series of recent works on twisting light into vortices, which could be used for automotive sensing. |
