Sidle Professor, University of Central Asia, Tajikistan "Dark Clouds Over the Silk Road - Sustainability Issues facing Mountainous Central Asia" Dr. Chatchai Tantasirin Assistant Professor, Kasetsert University, Thailand "Hydrological Processes and Effect of Forest Management in the Tropics" -Abstract Mountainous regions are important and key areas in achieving the SDGs,including sustainable resource management. Such regions are for thesources of forest and water resources for downstreams withinwatersheds, and are also vulnerable to landslides and other sedimentdisasters caused by climate change. In this seminar, we will discuss the future of resource management based on the latest information on changes in resource use and its impact on sustainability, such aschanges in water and sediment transport, with a focus on Central and Southeast Asia. |
