Elucidating the human motion control

【ENERGY】 Venture Unit

  • Overview

Our research focuses on health, affect and dynamics for application of inverse optimal control theory to human motion and not just to a given task but also when the task is affected by emotions. Inverse optimal control (IOC) theory assumes that every human motion is governed by an optimality. In collaboration with Prof. Kulic from the Monash University, Australia, we apply IOC to motions to segment (Figure) and detect fatigue and motion changes. This research topic is crucial for understanding the human motion and for controlling assistive robots.
